The team

Norton Rose Fulbright's global competition team comprises more than 180 attorneys and is on the top 10 Global Elite competition practice of the Global Competition Review (GCR) 2025.

Our Brussels team advises international and German clients on antitrust, state aid, public procurement, sanctions law, and regulatory matters, including the Digital Markets Act and the Foreign Subsidies Regulation. We handle competition issues such as cooperation between competitors, sales agreements, dominant company behavior, fines, damages claims, and support transactions before the Federal Cartel Office and EU Commission. We also assist with legal matters related to subsidies, advising providers, recipients, and third parties on registration, complaints, and court proceedings. Additionally, we support clients in tender procedures, public procurement, and international sanctions, and provide guidance on German and EU regulatory issues, including energy, infrastructure projects, and state aid in sectors like aviation, airports, and logistics.

Skills and Experience Required

  • German qualified lawyer.
  • At least 1 year of professional experience in EU and German regulatory law, particularly public procurement and state-aid.
  • Experience with the Foreign Subsidies Regulation is not a requirement but would be considered a strong asset.
  • Native German speaker.
  • Fluency in English.
  • Outstanding analytical, drafting and communication skills.
